The Start-up visa holds substantial benefits:

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Start-up Visa Program, you must:

2.2. Get a letter of support from a designated organization

A qualifying business means you created a business that meets the following conditions.
- At the time you get a commitment from a designated organization:
- Each applicant holds 10% or more of the voting rights (up to 5 people can apply as owners)
AND - Applicants and the designated organization jointly hold more than 50% of the total voting rights
- Each applicant holds 10% or more of the voting rights (up to 5 people can apply as owners)
- At the time you get a commitment from a designated organization:
- You provide active and ongoing management of this business from within Canada
- An important part of the operations of the business happens in Canada
- This business is incorporated in Canada
2.2.Get a letter of support from a designated organization
You must get a letter of support from a Designated Organization to invest in or support possible start-ups.
2.3.Meet the language requirements
The ability to communicate and work in English, French or both languages will help your business succeed in Canada.
You must meet the minimum level of the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 5 in modules of IELTS.
2.4.Bring enough money to settle
The Government of Canada does not give financial support to new start-up visa immigrants.
The amount you need depends on the size of your family.
3. How to apply ?
AINiT staff will assist you to provide your updated guidelines, regulations and which correct forms and supporting documents are required to lodge a valid application including:
- Application checklist and application forms
- To pay the your application fee
- To pay the Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF)
- To provide your bio-metrics
- To pay third-party fees
- To Submit your application
4. After you apply

5. Prepare to Arrive in Canada
If you’re outside Canada
As of November 21, 2020, you must use ArriveCAN before checking in at the airport or crossing the border to submit your
- Travel and contact information
- Quarantine plan
- COVID-19 symptom self-assessment
Please bring your ArriveCan receipt (electronic or paper) with you to show the border services officer upon arrival.
If you are already in Canada
The department of immigration will contact you about next steps.
You will have to do a short interview with an immigration officer.
You have two options for your interview:
- make an appointment at one of our offices in Canada (best option)
- go to a Canadian “port of entry” (border crossing), and present:
- proof that you have the funds to support yourself and your family
- your Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) and your permanent resident visa (if we gave you one)
