About Subclass 485 Visa

The Temporary Graduate Visa (Subclass 485) is a work visa for international students who have recently completed an eligible Australian qualification. It allows you to stay temporarily in Australia to live, work, and gain experience in your field.
This visa includes two streams:
Post-Study Work Stream
- For students who have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree from an Australian institution.
- No need to nominate an occupation.
- Visa duration: 2 to 8 years, depending on your qualification and whether you studied in a regional area.
- Available for onshore and offshore applicants.

Graduate Work Stream

- For those who have completed a trade qualification, diploma, or certificate and nominate an occupation listed on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL).
- Requires a positive skills assessment.
- Visa duration: Up to 2 years (3 years for some eligible passport holders).

- Be under 35 years of age
- Have completed a CRICOS-registered course in the last 6 months
- Hold or have held a valid student visa (subclass 500)
- Meet English language requirements (e.g. IELTS, PTE)

- Meet health and character requirements
