What Happens After Subclass 309 Is Granted?
Once you enter Australia on the Subclass 309 visa, you can live with your partner and enjoy full work and study rights. After a minimum of 2 years, and with continued evidence of a genuine relationship, your application for the permanent Partner Visa (Subclass 100) will be processed.
Subclass 100 provides full permanent residency status, access to Medicare, and eligibility to apply for Australian citizenship (subject to residency requirements).
